horse riding stables .. farms in the local will deliver a load .ask the council for details on composting they do ,collect leaves or have a load delivered to the site by the council when they fall

Yup stables are definitely your best bet. They will normally have to pay to have it removed so will be more than happy for you to turn up with a few bags and a fork.
Best if you find one that uses straw rather than woodshavings.

Also have a look on your District Council's website, as all riding stables need to be licenced by them and there will probably be a list there.

also farms, those with cattle will have endless cow muck heaps, but also arble farms particularly those growing veg, will use manure both horse and cattle and i'm sure most of them won't mind you having a bit. :D

A stables near us just dumps all theirs in a spare field.
I went to ask to buy some and he told me to help myself - "the pile on the left is fresh, pile on the right has been rotting for a year or so"

Turned up at this field and there were two MOUNTAINS of the stuff there. The size of two houses.

Needless to say I filled my boot!
Good beer, good BBQ and good friends.
