it wasn't the council, woodburner, it was my plot neighbour who thought my plot too big ( i pay for the larger sized plot) and laid her path all along on a recently weeded section of mine. she even took some of my slabs to do it! haha.
Cheeky b*cough*!
Personally I consider that beyond the pale, (literally beyond her pale!) and would be calling, the management for clarification (measuring and marking out) of the boundaries (yours and hers, or she'll still take the path!). If the management is uncooperative, go to the council. If they won't help with arbitration or measuring out at least you can get a copy of the plan to wave at her! (They should have a plan of the lotties with all the plots marked with their areas. )
I demand the right to buy seed of varieties that are not "distinct, uniform and stable".

Mine in Rugby is privately owned (Bilton Poor's Land - donated to the people of Bilton by King Charles II in 16-something-or-other)
£15 a year - less for pensioners (funnily enough I'm off to pay my rent this very evening) for a half plot which is about 7m by 21m. Water in troughs about every 8 plots, some low fencing, no security, no loos, a trading hut which is only open 2 mornings a week between March and October. No petty squabbles to date but a spate of vandalism just before Christmas >:(

£29 per plot, water every other plot, have to erect and maintain you own fencing.  Allotments are owned by the Parish Council but managed by an association.

My plots are on a Parish council field. I have just paid my dues @£6 per 10 pole plot.
Very good value really as we have taps for water & allowed to use hand held hosepipes,
quite good security & a lovely village location. All my 8 plots are in 1 block

I pay £48 for 12 rod (1.5 plots) and £1 Association share.

Good, high security fence, access from two main gates and wide path through the middle (cars allowed when the ground can take them) - I always cycle. Parking space at one gate. Water supply to taps every few plots. No loo. No shop but free loan of a range of equipment including petrol mowers and rotovators - just add petrol and go! Hard-standing in the centre of the site for off-loading manure deliveries.

A friendly site too. :)

I'm at Rosendale Allotments in Herne Hill/Brixton area. We pay aournd £35 per year. There are over 300 plots (around 8m x 16m), there is piped water feeding cisterns - no taps to be left on but water there when you need it. There's also a long drop composting toilet.
