Split Toms..
« on: August 12, 2008, 11:51 »
Grrrrr

All this rain and my soon to be ripe toms have all split.  I suppose they'll do for sauces I just wanted to rant about it.  :D

What with blight, problem compost, drought and now floods it looks like Im going to have to put my hand in my pocket for a greenhouse...

PS Anyone want some courgettes ??? PLEASE !!!  :D

Yes please to the cougette offer if only you weren't so far away.  From my 2 plants (1 yellow and 1 green)I have had the total amount of 1  !!
and there's nothing coming on, what a waste of my space and effort.  Mrs Bouquet

How long are you going for? I had to arrange for someone to harvest mine when we went away for 2 days!

Honestly - if you've got small ones now, you'll have marrows in a few days if they aren't cut!

if you have a distinct lack of fruits its usually down to lack of watering....
courgettes are mega thirsty, (and hungry) flood the whole area regularly - my plants are now a good 4 feet across and still growing!! had a good crop off them so far and by the looks of them I will soon be inundated!
Secret is dig a big hole, chuck a bucket of well rotted MANURE in the bottom + a handful of growmore fill up with ex growbag compo and watch the blighters go bonkers!! but water water water......
Death OR Cake ???
