Pride comes before a fall and sowing sprouts
« on: June 28, 2010, 11:28 »
The other day, I got an e-mail from Seeds of Italy encouraging me to buy seeds to sow now. They say it's "brassica season" and listed a whole load of plants, among them sprouts.

When I read it, I thought "What fool's going to start sowing sprouts now?", kidding myself I'm ahead of the game and know what I'm doing. Unfortunately, when I went to water my sprouts, which were ready to go in the ground, I discovered that half of them have been shorn by a mysterious pest. So now I'm short of plants.

I was under the impression it was too late to sow sprouts now. Or am I wrong? Are Seeds of Italy right, meaning I could replace my missing plants?

Not really much to lose as you've already lost your own.  I believe anything is worth a try.

Can anyone recommend varieties of sprouts that don't fall over easily?
