Can anyone recommend varieties of sprouts that don't fall over easily?

My crop of sprouts is very good, but a lot of the plants have fallen over, with their roots still in the ground. Without having to resort to staking every single plant, are there any varieties that are less like to do this, or am I doing something wrong. The ground is well consolidated, and I've earthed up around the bases to support them, but every year I have this problem. Any suggestions would be welcome.

You could always try Early Half Tall variety, they are shorter than the standard varieties and withstand windier conditions better, I had a good crop last year and were pretty tasty too :-)

I've grown Maximus and trafalgar for the last 4 years (10 of each ) they do tend to lean over however it's worth the time it takes to tie in support canes I have a dustbin bag full in the freezer to see me through to next years crop

Not ever grown sprouts so cant tell you why they are falling but you could you tie them to a bamboo cane.. it may help.

I've always grown Doric F1. They're a compact variety and I've never had any fall over. This years crop was a bit pathetic however.
