I went to Lidl the other day & when I got to the checkout there were 3 packets of seeds in the trolley  Now not sure how they got there but they're now sat on the side at home :D

Growing 62 varieties this year but I am always looking for new ones.

As Hannah rightly says

(don't suppose you know what chillies are the parents of Chenzos?)

Sorry can't help you with that, but there are quite a few black ones to choose from.

I have only been a member here for a couple of days and find the whole forum fascinating ! Odd how I feel most at home in this thread "now I must ignore that T&M catalogue that just dropped on the mat today :)

Beware, it is enchanting!

*Feeling self-righteous*

I didn't even unwrap the cellophane off my T&M catalogue

Now the Seeds of Italy catalogue... :D

Ooh! evil chillies...
What did you get, and where from? I've got room for a few more.

It's a mixed bag as some are also ornamental or mild but the hot stuff is

Seeds from colleague include among others:
Trinidad Scorpion Butch T
and oh yes, er not hot but - Peter Pecker  for a bit of a laugh

From Chile Pepper Co:
Naga Morich
Trinidad Scorpion Red Moruga Blend
Chocolate Bhut Jolokia

Simpsons Seeds for:
Habanero 7 Pot Yellow
Habanero Chocolate
Habanero Fatali
Habanero Fruit Burst
Naga Jolokia (Indian PC-1)

Premier Seeds for:
Bird Eye Demon

I don't even like hot chillies  ::) but there are always willing guinea pigs around to give them a try LOL

Which chillis are the mild ones BabbyAnn?

I'm not a fan of the heat, but I do like the flavour of chilli.

Me too!  That's how my shopping started off as I wanted to try a few mild ones and I'm especially interested in paprika type for flavour not heat, but then there was much discussion about extremely hot chillies at work and I ended up with a trigger finger.  Along with the others, I've also bought  from Simpsons Seeds:

Aji Pulsar - mild-medium heat
Espelette - mild
Nepalese Bell (apparently can be mild or hot)
Padron - mild

and from Premier Seeds:
Black Hungarian - mild-medium heat (not as hot as Hungarian Hot Wax)

and I was given seed:
Ancho - mild
Cascabelle - mild

I have a small greenhouse (8X6) with part of it heated via soil warming cables and a couple of small heated trays, also a growlight.
As usual, I've over done the seed sowing - (being impatient!) and the greenhouse is full!

But so, so exciting :)
I've had tomatoes germinate after 4 days. Never had that before.

Just hoping that I can pot up the hardy stuff and move into the polytunnel on the allotment. Because there's so much more to sow, and what happens when I need to pot on.....!?
I do this every year, and say I will do better next year. But its just so addictive  isn't it?

I have the patience of a saint for planting seeds.
Bulbs however, are quite another matter! ::)

Caroline - I 2nd that - I was smug that I had all the seed I was going to use - went shopping with the wife could not resist looking and picked up Pea's which I said I was not going to grow and Cress so I can actually grow something now

I'm my defence, having now cleared the plot and measured again I do have a little more area than I thought.
