With the garden centres still closed, where can you get fleece?

That's my problem too as planted my tomatoes in cold greenhouse and realised too late that I have no fleece  :(

Even some newspaper over them just overnight can help provide that extra layer of insulation.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

What a dilemna!  I have masses of squashes, courgettes, pumpkins, sweetcorn and runner beans that would love to go out, especially given the forecast for the next 4 days here in Oxford - warm and bright, and probably not too cold at night.  But then the forecast cold blast for Sunday and Monday means that I should probably hold off till middle of next week before putting them out  -  and they'll get leggier and too burly for their containers....

Worth a try, but given how long it takes to get anything delivered, probably too late to get some before Sunday, which is when the temperature drops like a stone.

I can't say how swift the 3rd party sellers are delivering, but I do know Amazon are still fulfilling next day deliveries. You can contact sellers on there before purchasing, they may be able to advise delivery times.

It's a visit to the roof for the painting sheets and covers tomorrow...

I do have some debris netting which also works, but not enough at the moment, so anyway, a few more clothes pegs everywhere and a wing and a prayer will be enough, hopefully!

:0~

A chum down the road already has his runner beans out, which is worrying...

I have a max-min thermometer. I'll be interested to see how cold it gets in the greenhouse.

Morning all
hope everyone was frost free last night.
I Apologise for my ignorance, i'm new to growing and having a greenhouse but I think some of you are suggesting that anything too delicate to go out at the mo is equally as vulnerable in the greenhouse????
So toms courgette beans and squash all probably need to come in overnight from Sunday until Wednesday morning here.
My poor spuds are looking so good. I'll have to find something to cover them with.

Thanks Twood
Happy Gardening May your plot be abundant in veg and free from slugs ! :)

There is a certain degree of extra protection in an unheated greenhouse, but your tomatoes and cucumbers in particular don't like it if the overnight temperature in the GH falls below about 10C.

We have had a frost for the last 2 nights but my fleece worked well and potatoes and courgettes all looking happy  :D

I fleeced the apple tree as well although I am not sure how essential that was.

I have put an oil heater in my mini greenhouse which has kept the temperatures above 10C.

Lets see what challenges next week brings!

I managed to get some fleece from my local Homebase, so should be no problem getting through this upcoming cold snap.

I've just covered all the toms with old bed sheets...

One of them was a wedding present in 1972...
