Punch holes in old yoghurt pots/assorted plastic packaging for pots/seed trays and top with old clear plastic packaging for propagating covers -costs nowt and if you end up with surplus plants for planting out you can give them away at no cost to yourself :) .

My local homebase gives ex seed holders and pot trays away free. However you don't know what they've been sprayed with or are carrying. Try seeing if they'll give you their used ones? (Mine where by the door)

Other than that, wilkinsons or £1 shops sometimes have them. Or B&M.

My local Tesco have some seed trays in at present. £1 for three trays in the big yellow bin things that they have sometimes.

I keep my old plastic mushroom trays. They already have holes in the bottom. Where I can, I also drop last years trays in the dishwasher.  Make sure you rinse them well before and after they go in the dishwasher.

My local B&Q (Lakeside Essex) has a chuck out of it's gardening stuff at the end the summer.  They practically give the stuff away.  So did Tescos garden dept this year.  I made a killing on cardboard pots and seed trays. A few well directed £s then can save a bundle in spring.  Not much use to you now though huh?

I don't have a local Wilkinsons and I feel somewhat left out.  I shall have to hunt one down.

Pots.
Now i know this is a little naughty and i'm not sure that it  is really aloud.
My Wyevale have a bin for recycled pots, now in my view recyling is taking them out and using them. Yesterday i recycled 70 .

Another cheap option is the £1 shops, who sell polysyrene coffee cups [guess how much they cost]. A pot with its own insulation, donts forget to put a hole in the bottom
