I've never seen anything to suggest that they're designed to work on worms, only moles. I've certainly got plenty of worms in my veggie plot, just not moles any more. Here's a description from one site:

Where has this idea come from?  The sonic repellant repels moles, not worms. Or at least the one we bought does!

As a veteran worm hunter and recent viewer of Ade Edmonsons ( Ade in Britain ITV 16.00 weekdays ) attempts at the World worm charming competition i thought that vibrations capable of driving off moles may do similar to some types of worms.
Just my brain going off on a tangent as it often does.

Well one solar sonic device certainly doesn't banish worms, but it discourages moles. Did you know there aren't moles in Ireland?
