Hi there

My cucumbers have taken a down turn and I'm not sure what the problem is. They are only young about 8-10 inch tall and the leaves have started drooping and they seem like they are "re rooting" from the base of the stem. They are in grow bags and are definitely watered enough.

'started drooping' sounds dramatic, don't want to jump into unduly conclusions there, can be million tiny reasons, heat, sun, draught, cold, wet, the whole works.

Re-rooting from base, re-shooting I suppose. What variety is it, folks might know it, since as it were, some cucumbers grow like a rambling bush, with a number of shorter runners from the base.

The fact that you say they are "definately watered enough" might suggest that you are overwatering .

Until they become fairly big plants then the normal moisture in a grow bag should be sufficient.

I have 4 cucumber plants in the garden, in fact I picked my first cucumber ever this lunchtime, must say though I think I shloul have left it on the plant though for longer .....  2 of my plants are doing well, even though they were under water for a few days when the garden got waterlogged, the other 2 plants (which were not waterlogged) look really sad!  The sad ones had greenfly, so I have treated the plants and have got my fingers crossed.
