I sowed my last batch exactly a month ago, but I'm doing those in my polytunnel. Not sure how much they'll grow outside at this time unless we do get a warm autumn. You could always pop a cloche over them.

They're under a layer of debris netting, and are just poking through as of today.

I could cloche them however, and would ask Mrs Growster if she'd mind taking all the cloches out of store, washing them, and placing them over....oh forget it, I'll leave them under the netting - they like it there; it's green and pleasantly warm...

The established ones in another bed got a liquid feed today, as it is soooo dry down there at the moment!

Ive pulled them from when they are tennis ball size to absolutely huge and they were all great.
Lovely stir fried or sliced raw with anchovies, goats cheese and a vinaigrette.
