Have a large unused shower tray - 1200 x 900 ceramic type with a hairline crack (so no good for the showeroom) was wondering if it'd make a planter for something - herbs? (or maybe some other clever recycling idea???).  It's only about 8-9cm deep....

Otherwise, I'll be taking the hammer to it to make crock bits ... (for the big planters I've just acquired - Thanks NewShoot  )

I have absolutely no idea what depth (or height) 8-9cm's is or are, but how about filling it with gravel and use it to stand alpines   upon.     Cheers,     Tony.

Can it  be just ornamental, Sempervivums or houseleeks look lovely in low troughs with a bit of gravel around them.  

They also keep witches away if you're troubled up with witches

At 3 1/2 inches deep, it won't take much soil. Ornamental planting or a gravel base for pots sounds good.
