..............Would / could it work? If not, any other uses on the plot for it do you think?

Cheers! Mash  :)

Unless it's thick and black, I think it will let light through and just act as a wonderful polytunnel for encouraging the weeds  >:(

I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Weed suppressant membrane lets the water through, your shower curtain won't & then it will be slippy & dangerous. You could try it as a cloche.

It's thick & pale blue. I was thinking of putting it on land where I won't be overwintering, along with any other bits of membrane for other areas. It'd be early spring when it would be lifted.
I like the idea of a cloche tho' stronger than polythene  :)

Agree with Yorkie - it will just keep your soil warm and encourage weeds - did the same thing myself last year so know better now.  Can you use it as a protection for garden chairs/tables etc that are left out in the winter?

Sounds like a good hiding place for slugs as well.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

I think it would become extremely brittle and break up into a squillion bits when you try and lift it later.    Best to burn it ! ! ! !           Cheers,    Tony.

Brilliant idea.

Oh - best be sure that when you do you stand well back as the fumes given off could be carcinogenic. Don't worry about the other plot holders.

Ok, thanks for all your replies  :).

I have a white roof on my greenhouse GrannieAnnie  :).

Sounds like a good hiding place for slugs as well.

I might use it on my garden in late autumn. Whip it up in the morning & watch the birds enjoy breakfast  :D

You could use it to cover your muck heap, or folded up to make a duvet for your compost heap.  Cover for a tomato house or frame ? Cover for your lotty furniture is a good idea

I would never burn anything plastic on the plot. Take it to the tip or Freecycle it

Sounds like you delling that membranes  :D

ANYTHING will work just to stop weeds growing. But it does not mean that you don't need to process the soil under.
Previous owner of my place used old carpet and futons.  Carpet works ok, but futons. Wild pigs played little bit, noe i have to clean up the mess
