hispi plants
« on: March 07, 2012, 08:48 »
I set some hispi cabbage seeds away around 10 days ago and they are now about an inch tall, they are in a heated porch and I was just wondering if I should move them to a unheated greenhouse or is it too early I am sure I read sumwhere that they don't like too much heat.thanks

get them out into the cold greenhouse before they get leggy, you're right they really don't like warm!

Yes, they have a conical shaped heart, but they can be cut early for "spring greens".
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

They have a lovely heart, sweet and tasty. Rick Stein's fave cabbage apparently. I grow them every year as they're quick and easy.  You can grow them all the year round

does that mean you could crow a quick crop in the pollytunel and use them a spring greens picking them before the heart developed
