Hi, I just thought I would let everyone know that ASDA are selling Dr D G Hessayon’s The Vegetable & Herb Expert book for £4 instead of £7.99. I picked up one today in the Blackpool store.
I hope this is the correct forum

Is it a good book?

.....it is the bible of veg growing, only hope he's caught up on a few of the veggies that he was a bit lacking on in my book, eg garlic.

Even worse, I did find a site on the web that had practically nicked the whole book, but haven't managed to find it recently, I should have saved it to Favourites but missed the moment.

You will want it.....and even if you could get all the info off the web, you can't take the pooter with you to the lotty, you also can't make notes on the PC cos the tippex messes up the screen.

Some real keeners have a copy in the garden, at the lotty, and by their bed!  Honest.

I LOVE this book - I bought it a few months ago and ..... it is my regular night time reading!

At one time I used to snuggle down to a raunchy book or would spend time with the OH but now its Dr H all the way!!   (that is, after I've managed to tear myself away from the pooter on this forum!)

I recently saw a set of these at Waterstones, and almost bought, but wanted to ask first if they were any good. I've seen Doc Hessayon mentioned, and always thought it was one big encyclopedia like book! If they come in a series of smallies covering different gardening subjects, I sure will go buy them then!
