Nipped up the plot briefly today to unload two weeks worth of bunny litter trays into the compost heap. While I was there I took the oppotunity to give my garlic a feed as it's leaves are looking a bit yellow. I scattered some growmore and worked it in the soil slightly and also gave it a feed with liquid seaweed. Did similar but less growmore with the peas too. Took the fleece off and tied them up as they're getting big.

And forgot to pick some weeds for the rabbits. Oops.

We weeded!!

Had a barrowful of couch grass roots in no time, and now have a nice bit of ground cleared for some mangetout!! The onion beds and soft fruit patch are all nicely weed free  8)  (for now)

Repotted a few some courgettes, and put in some broad beans!!

Sounds like you have all been busy busy busy.

I didn't go up the allotment in the end cos of the rain on and off all day, but planted some peas in the back garden (in between the showers).  Am now thinking they won't grow after being soaked for nearly a week.

I also spread some bonemeal around my plum tree.

It's going to rain all day today so no lottie again.

Hopefully tomorrow will be better weather.

Catching up from yesterday:

Sowed poppy seeds and love-in-the-mist seeds in our flower bed on our verge, and organised the 1m3 compost bin for gorwing squash plants in the top in few weeks' time

Move the goji berry bush out onto the back verge as it is so massive it takes up more space than seems worth it.

Planted a Lycesteria formosa next to the (as yet unfinished) giant cold frame, and more gladioli corms.

Weeded the section where dwarf peas will be transpanted and set up their supports

Looked out of the window and relaxed.

I weeded my asparagus bed.  Very pleased to see some tips poking through.  This will be the second year of spears so no harvest this year.  Mulching with the fertile contents of my compost bin a bit later

Despite the wet weather I was determined to do something down on the plots. It is with great pleasure that the Greenhouse on plot 6b has now all automatic vent openings as I fitted the last one today.
I now need some sunshine to see if it works as I set the cylinder to just take the weight of the window.

Forced reluctant kids out in the drizzle. The 7 year old was quite helpful but the 4 year old was vile, alas. Despite that we finished filling our first raised bed and planted Golden Nugget first earlies, finally.  Another barrow filled with weeds, stones, roots etc.  Nearly got ground ready for second bed (frame is built, just needs hammering into ground) but didn't manage to get all the bindweed roots out before the rain got too heavy. Oh well, next week I guess.  Have more pots to plant ASAP...

I thought of my plot, from the relative warmth of indoors with a cat on my lap!
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...
