Hi guys

This year we hatched out some new ducks - of rather mixed breed but very lovely. They have just started laying in the last few weeks, which is odd in itself, but when I break the eggs, the yolks are a yucky brown colour. I thought it must be what they are eating but then an old girl laid an egg and the yolk was perfectly yellow. The flock free range on the farm but all stick together so must be eating the same things. I expect the eggs are all right to eat, they don't smell or float but I can hardly sell them as they look decidely off . Any ideas?

Thanks, kegs. Sorry for delay in replying but our internet has been a bit dodgy. It seems that the eggs are fine - I just don't fancy eating them - nor does anyone else! Hopefully thye will find another food source soon and go back to the normal brilliant yellow.
