My garlic is sprouting already!
« on: November 08, 2011, 17:37 »
Is that bad?  I hope not as I've planted around 40 plants.  I planted it about three weeks ago, and some already have 4 inch stems.  I'm sure this didn't happen last year.

Ours has been in for 3 weeks & is just starting to sprout.
I also have some that has been in the ground since Spring...I thought it had died in the Summer, but it sprouted again in Sept so I left it.

Yes mine too and my Oct planted onions glad to hear there's nothing to worry about
Give me a sense of humor, Lord,
Give me the grace to see a joke,
To get some humour out of life,
And pass it on to other folk.
Happy new year to you all xx

I planted mine out a few weeks ago, and have not seen anything as yet, but not worried .  Its happened in the past; one week you don't see anything, then a couple of weeks later, when you remember to look, they're up and running

My 3 varieties went out 1st and 2nd October.  Provence is about 4 or 5 inches high, nothing from the Picardy yet and noticed the Solent Wight just popping out the ground for the first time today - unless it's grass??

Planted mine the weekend before last. The Marco has leapt straight out of the ground, which it always does. The Iberian Wight is much slower, always is, with only one clove just showing a tip above the ground. I'm also doing Thermidrome for the first time, and that's kind of in the middle, slower than Marco but most of them showing.
