 i was having a conversation with another gardening friend  the other day we where talking about growing tomatoes in the greenhouse

he said the old gardeners used to  feed there tomato plants with a jar of sugar mixed with water with a piece of knitting wool placed in the jar tied above the plant so it drip feed the plant this was supposed to make the tomateos sweet tasting 
 
 I've used sheep dung put in a water but for twelve months and watered with a watering can but never used the sugar water mix  method 

i just wonder if he's taking the Michael or words to that effect has anyone els done this or heard of this being done

never heard of that one...it would just attract ants I think
