Charlotte spuds - again.
« on: October 13, 2011, 18:46 »
Decided tonight to lift that last of my Charlottes - ones that had started to sprout. The first showed growth from fairly big spuds (wish I'd lifted them now) but the next had some reasonable sized 'new potatoes' on it.

So I've decided to leave them, earth them up and see what happens. The weather is so mild down here that I think I'll get a second crop before the first frosts get them.

When I dug them up yesterday,my last row of desiree had all been eaten by goodness knows which furry....presumably mice or voles again.

I do have bags of very late sown spuds in bags, which I shall put in the greenhouse very soon, the nights are getting a bit parky here!

Put my 2 bags of Red Duke Of York for Christmas in the greenhouse, for the same reason, yesterday.
