This year is our first year growing spuds. We dug up our second early 'Charlotte' yesterday and from 9 plants harvested... 19 kilograms!!!!  :o Is this some kind of record or are they known for being high yielders? I just found the receipt for the seed potatoes we bought back in January - £1.19! What a bargain! It's made up a little bit for the fact that we had to destroy all our blight-ridden outdoor toms yesterday too  :cry: Oh well, you win some you lose some!

I got about the same from my Nicola spuds.

I think all the wet weather's made for a bumper crop this year.

You can't beat it can you ?

Mine were 99p for 10 seed potatoes from wilko's.

That's doing well, depending how long they were in. Near 2 kg a plant would be the good norm for a 'merit' new spud at high time.

Less would be OK, if harvested earlier and if I'd still have any in I would expect more from an early planting. It all depends, but that's a good crop to be happy with.

Good stuff. I grew Charlotte this year and like you had LOADS of spuds from them. I'll definately be doing them again next year.
