why are my squashes producing only male flowers??

It's normal for that type of veg.  Have patience the females will catch up ...

(why do I think I am setting up a punchline here  ;) ::) )
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

thank goodness - mine are actually Squashkins this year - butternuts would have had female flowers by now and fruit!  should I pinch out the growing tips or let them trail?  What are people's opinions on this?

Nope, not just you, but I'm not sweating, mine always do this, then suddenly take off.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Cheers DD,

Plenty of small male flowers, all tight shut, but no ladies yet.

Finally got a pumpkin going though!

Me too!

I'm trying to grow a reasonably large one this year and felt really guilty about chopping off a lot of the runners and females today now that one's set & swelling.
