This year I've graduated from just pumpkin & butternut to include two other types 'Queensland Blue' and 'Chacha'. Just wondering if I should treat them like butternuts and let the gourds grow and harvest or like pumpkins and pick most fruits off while young so I get one strong gourd.

Treat them like butternuts and leave them on the plant to mature, until the plant dies down in Autumn.

Sorry to hi-jack the thread but I was given a squash plant by a 'friend of a friend' so no idea of what it is. I have planted it in a tub of compost from my 'Dalek' ( well an old plastic tank from the loft ) 2 ft in diameter and put it in a green house. It seems to be growing well and about to flower. What should I do next apart from liquid feed and water?
