Do they get dry skin?
« on: July 16, 2011, 08:41 »
I have noticed some white flakes when the girls are pruning. They are 15 weeks old. All seem very well but just noticing a few white flakes. Definately doesn't seem to be anything alive.

have a real close look at the flakes - are they like little waxy tubes? If so they are tubes that surround new feathers and your girls will have just gone through a small moult to get their adult plummage  :)
Staffies are softer than you think.

Will go and look but makes sense as there have been more feathers in the run when we let them out recently. Thank you, my book definitely doesn't cover that

if some are still getting new feathers you may still see the tubes on the feather shafts  :)
