sweetest carrot

Which is the sweetest carrot? I have grown both Mokum hybrid and Carrot Fly Away hybrid. The Mokum is by far the nicest of the two. Are there any that taste better?

Are you asking about just fly resistant varieties or all?

I have never grow fly resistant so can't comment on them but i have grown a few others  and in my opinion it's Early Nantes picked young.

They are so sweet that my 3 year old emptied several buckets of them after tasting one  :nowink:

Is that  Carrot 'Supreme Chantenay Red Cored'?

http://www.thompson-morgan.com/vegetables/vegetable-seeds/carrot-and-parsnip-seeds/carrot-supreme-chantenay-red-cored/354TM

Has any one else grown mokum

They taste wonderful fresh from the ground (after a wee wash of course)

Just chantenay red cored on my packet but possibly the same.

I'd be intersted how those Mokum do in pots, surely not as good as it looks on the link

They are in pots and have been simply delicious, mainly eaten dipped into my husbands home made houmous  Really sweet and juicy. No carrot fly either; they are completely in the open although I did scatter a few spring onions in with them

Mr Fothergill's Chantenay red cored 2.  Might try the "supreme" next year and see how they compare.

They are in pots

Have u managed to get the 6/7inch roots in pots and if so how deep where the pots?
I grow my carrots in pots/buckets/ bath tubs, mainly trying to keep away from the fly but only crop small'ish roots and they all get eaten in season.

As always on a search for a type that will grow, in buckets pots etc,  to a size worth storing.
