I  took this  on me neighbour wallys plot......WHAT IS IT FOLKS..?

I missed it in its stunning mauve colouration as the flower heads were also a really vibrant mauve/purple ........ he has said I can have some seeds from it
to try and grow next season,like I said....dunno what it is....but very pretty.

Hard to tell without any of the rest of the plant in the picture for a clue, but the purple in your question makes me think an allium.

Its definatly an allium but im not sure which variety as so many of them look similar after flowering. I keep them after they have flowered as in the picture as they give some great structure

I've got those in my garden. It is an allium but for the life of me I can't remember the name of the variety. I've got half a dozen different sorts of allium, there's loads of them, but they're all nice.

If i was having a guess id go for purple sensation

Its apparently part of the onion family,although theres no mention of you being able to chomp
on any part of it though....shame...!!!!!!!!!!

anyway,its a stunning looking thing and if I get some seeds from me neighbour I will endevour to see if I can get em grown and looking damned good  !!!!!!!!

Seeds will prpbably be 2 years before they flower.

but seeds do germinate easily..............I have seedling all around the base of mine where they self seeded
