If you look at the technical information it tells you how many seeds are approx to the gram. They state 800/900.

http://www.molesseeds.co.uk/acatalog/Products_Carrot_293.html

That works out about the same.

Another example - cucumber wise - they say 35 seed to the gram. Minimum order of, say, Marketmore is 10g = 350 seeds! But at only £1.90 you can give most of them away. (Or sell them at a profit!).

By comparison, Suttons sell them for £1.25 for 20, 350 would cost over £21!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

just put in 3 rows of lettuce split pills(Tintin) from moles. I will know when they come up but using the earthway seed drill it would seem no thining is needed, making the seed very good value for money. Because other than weeding the next job is harvesting.  :D

Just to drag this one up.

I've just sown my sweetcorn & opened the packet of seeds from moles I got 341 seeds for £2.59 of an F1 Super Sweet variety.

T & M are about the £2 mark for 25-30 seeds of the Super Sweey varieties!

the reason they are much cheaper than Suttons etc and the seed counts are very high is because they are a wholesale seed company not a retail one as Suttons is and are therfore more tailored to growers and nurseries but no reason for you good folks not to snag a bargain !!

I have dealt with Moles for over 10 years and this year have ordererd over £2000 worth of seed from them

another good wholesale company that seeds are now available online and in some cases cheaper than Moles is this one

http://www.tozerseedsdirect.com/
Everyone should grow their own veg and know where their food is coming from even if it is only a one pot on a patio or balcony Grow Something!!

Reminds me of the story about the American/Soviet research into something that would write in zero G. Americans spent a fortune on researching a pen. The soviets used a pencil!
