Still reeling from the fact Im going to have to burn all my raspberry canes   today I noticed a plague of these decimating my blackberry canes.

I'm sorry you're having a rough time with pests.  Why do you have to burn all your raspberry canes?  I'm afraid I don't have any words of wisdom because I'm very much a novice - but hopefully some of the others on the forum will be able to offer some useful suggestions to you for shifting the caterpillars!

Could you not get some insect spray? I got some so called organic stuff to protect my goosberries from saw fly a couple of weeks ago. I am sure it would make your caterpillars feel sick. Would be less drastic than cutting everything down and burning it! Sorry I cannot remember what I bought but this looks like it might help

The raspberries that are being burned have a virus ( see Lardman's other thread) not because of the caterpillars
