Hoping someone can help me, I have an apple tree on the allotment, I know it fruited last year as it had apples under it when we got the plot last October. This yr it flowered beautifully and then leaves appear so far so good.......a few days ago the tree was fine now a few days later all the flowers petals are falling off and leaving the Stamens of the flower on the tree which are turning brownish. Could anyone tell me what I have done wrong and what can I do to save it from disaster please??

The petals do fall, you won't know if you have apples until you see which flowers have set fruit, and start to swell.

Why do you think they haven't set ?

Maybe I should have said I am a novice and am trying to grow my own from reading books. So I know nothing about trees all I have done to it was apply some blood fish and bone a while back and have watered it  a few times due to dry weather. x

Dont worry about it you will be blessed with apples again this year  the petals are suppose to fall off and stamens brown up.

One of my apple trees looked very sickly last year, hardly had any fruit at all. But this year it's been absolutely smothered in blossom, as were all my other apple, pear, cherry and gage trees. Really glad I kept the old freezer in the garage now
