This on-line encyclopaedia developed by ADAS, supported by HGCA and the chemical companies is nothing short of superb.

I use this in my job as an agronomy lecturer and the students find it invaluable - i think you will as well.

Mark thanks so much for this - using your link I've just found out that the rather pretty weed along my hedge is garlic mustard, now it's got a name I've decided it can stay as it's rather pretty! Jude.

Thanks Mark.  I've added the link to our "Useful Internet Sites" sticky in the GYO Info section.

Great but it's a pity you can't search for a weed by it's name. I though I'd test my ability to use the key to weed types by hunting for one that had been identified recently on this site -  'hairy bittercress'. It's probably there but I can't find it.

Also, the pictures are all of weeds at a very early stage - mine get much bigger before I get to them.  :(

But you can! If you go to the 'Weed Information' link you can search by common or scientific name.

Thanks Mark...Ive made a sticky at the top of this forum about weeds, so will also add the link to that.

John, I've just noticed that on each weed page, there are tabs along the top showing young plant, mature plant, flowers etc!!

Should help you a bit!  :)
