White Chalky Eggs
« on: April 01, 2011, 19:52 »
Hi,

Does anyone know why one of my chickens is laying an egg coated in a layer of white chalky stuff that comes of when you rub it gently?  I think it is an egg being layed by a rhode island red about 18 months old, and the others are not doing the same?
Dont count ya chickens till they hatch!!!!!

could it be a calcium deposit- but in a different way?  I've had this a couple of times with my Maran, but there is nothing wrong with her  ???
