everlasting onions are they very nice ?

i have some red everlasting onions coming soon and aparently they are quite hard to come by now,are they a good tasting onion or just good for soups etc.apparently they just keep multiplying making more.anyone got any red ones

They're good to have around in late winter and late fall when there's little else fresh. The stalks that don't put up flowering seed heads can be used in salads. I have a small out of the way patch that I just let mine grow in because the bees like them and I know I'll always have them.

Mine are defi stronger in flavour, I like them and we use them raw or cooked throughout the winter.

I like them but they do tend to have quite a bit of the clear slimy thing you get inside spring onions sometimes
