I bought two redcurrants in poundland at the weekend and managed to get them in the ground today. How do I care for them? They did'nt have great instructions on the boxes and no names either so not sure on what type they are. Then again what else would I expect for a £.

I stuck mine in the ground with some manure about 5 years ago. I never remember to prune them or feed them and every year I'm literally swamped with red currants.

So, redcurrants really don't need much care.

Same as Trillium for me. I've not pruned mine or anything, and I get enough off one bush to make quite a few jars of redcurrant sauce.

Sounds good to me. I like the plant it, do nothing else and reap the rewards approach very much.
