Business has taken me away from the garden recently. I really want to plant out some spring cabbage this coming weekend (first week in November). Is it too late? Would a cloche help?

Mine have only been in for about a fortnight, but i'm in the south.

Put mine in last weekend... I was thinking too late then, but they seem to be doing ok, whats the worst that can happen... give it a go...

My guess is that they will survive the Winter but not be ready as Spring greens or hearted cabbages until early Summer.

If you have the plants, put them in and see what they look like in March.

You might be just as well starting a quick maturing variety such as Hispi or Greyhound very early in the Spring.

If you've got them - stick them in I would say.
