Recommend me a good early raspberry

I'll shortly have Autumn Bliss coming out of my ears, but my summer ones leave a lot to be desired. They were just found on the plot when we took it on and it's time they went as they are under-achieving.

What's a good one to put in?

Stands by for 50 different answers.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Malling Promise for a really early raspberry, Malling Delight to follow on.

I have never got on with the Scottish 'Glen' varieties.  I guess it depends on local circumstances.

My best cropper ever was Norfolk Giant, which is hardly available now because it was supposed to be temperamental.  Its successors are Malling Admiral and Leo.

Thanks both.

Good idea gillie with the two follow on varieties, I'm looking at a 32' row so it'll be good to space them time-wise.

Keep 'em coming.
