I think i must have bought almost every modern book written on growing vegetables,including Johns,however my favourite is the Gardening Which guide to Growing your own Vegetables,written by Liz Dobbs.Best sourced on Ebay.

It's a cheery tribeschap from New Guinea. That thing in his lap would normally be a gourd, worn in a special and gentlemanly way. As it's Christmas it has been replaced by a large cracker, so to speak...
