Some cucumbers not developing
« on: July 28, 2010, 11:27 »
We've got five cucumber plants (Emilie, growing in pots containing the compost out of grow-bags) and so far we've had over 30 cucumbers. All the baby cucumbers at the bottom of the plants have developed. But now some of the little ones further up are just going yellow then starting to rot. Does this just mean they haven't been fertilized, or is there a problem? Should I take off the yellow ones?

They can only support so many new ones at a time and 'drop' some if there are too many.
Pinch of the yellow ones and the others should be ok.
Are you feeding with tomato fertilizer now as well?

Thanks for reply. Yes, I'm giving them a weekly feed with tomato fertilizer. The plants look healthy, with just one or two of the bottom leaves going yellow.
