I am growing 'Flamingo' cucumber for the first time. They are producing lots of fruit but I haven't pared them back or infact done anything with them other than let them grow. What should I have done for future reference. I just seems a bit of a tangle mess at the moment. What stage should I stop it growing upwards.

From T & M's web site re this cucumber:

Train up the main shoot to top of wire and then pinch out the growing point and allow two shoots to trail downwards. Keep moist but not wet, apply shading as required and provide a moist, warm atmosphere. Regular picking will encourage fruiting. Under stress conditions, male flowers may be produced and these should be removed.

Should I look for the 2 sideshoots now and take them off. Even though there may be fruit on them? I have just looked up how to identify male/female flowers and to take off male ones.

To be honest, if you're anything like me, if you've got a healthy cucumber plant, you're grafteful and just let the thing grow!

No, hold on - I'm no cucumber expert.

I can kill more than most on this forum, that's why if I've got one growing, I don't mess with it!

Like DD, never touch 'em, apart from harvesting and watering.  Mine are outside this year and running rampant.  Caught one yesterday climbing up a dahlia.  A gentle disengagement and a quiet word but leave well alone otherwise.
