It's soul-destroying isn't it? One of the first things I did when I got my plot was to plant a hawthorn hedge all the way round the perimeter. It is now 6ft high and a solid, well secured gate helps to keep all but the most determined out. It's a shame we have to go to such lenghts but I have had plants destroyed and equipement stolen too so we have to do something.

i feel for you mate  :(
There's more comfrey here than you can shake a stick at!

We planted a rose / blackberry bushes around the boundary fence but the COUNCIL sprayed them with weed killer because of 'health and safety' issues when the teens climb over the fence!!!!!

We live in a funny world aelf.

Had some vandalism on our plot last night,It can be soul destorying. Have you though about speaking to the school and putting your concerns across also show them the damage,
and see were you can go from there

I reckon a nettle bed along the fence should do the trick and it is as good a comfrey for the compost.

Its only going to get worse when the grublets are on their school holidays.

Was it just a row of peas and the compost bins ? No consolation I know but things could have been much worse.

We contacted/emailed with pics both Head teachers of the two schools involved - no response not even an acknowledgement!!  We know they have received them because all the empty spirit bottles strewn about have been collected.  Funny enough the nettle bed along part of the fence on our side has not been disturbed.

This time only the peas and compost bins have been attacked.  Two years ago our rhubarb and gooseberry plants were dug up never to be seen again.  The Police and Council do nothing.

Rosa rugosa along the border would deter the little pests and the council can't kill them off as they are nigh on impossible to get rid off.

Our plot visited by vandals - what can we do

Get even & take no prisoners

..but if you don't like the sight of blood & you are a bit of a techy then how about a cheap day/night CCTV camera set up.>>or a mock set up to fool them into thinking they are being filmed.

I'm dreading the same thing happening to me as I need to clear the land that's been acting as a barrier to an easy way on to our site & my plot.

I hope it stops.

we have an area of fence in ours that is easy to climb over at the minute there is my rubble pile compleat with all the broken glass that gets thrown over on it could tell from the damage to the top of the fence that someone had been over one night but never since this was about 3 months ago and we used to get it every week

I'm not going to be popular for this - it is meant to be constructive and in no way belittling your suituation.

Are you sure it was kids and not foxes? The peas look rushed through rather than vandalised. Kids usually trample and pull up, whereas this looks half done as if a couple of foxes (or cats) bundled through; cats fighting?

The compost bin could also have been foxes if mistaken for dustbins and smelling of something edible. I have had dalek bins turned over before and it was a dog loose looking for scraps.

I hope this is not taken badly. I feel for anyone exposed to vandalism, but hopefully in this case it wasn't?
