I lifted 4 swift plants last weekend and got 2 1/2 lbs.  I have resisted temptation all week and now since I am fishing matches tomorrow and Saturday I will not be looking again until next week.  They were planted sports relief day which I think was 19th March.
Time waits for no man and I can't wait for growth.

so far I've had about 18lbs of epicure and dunluce grown in bags and started in the greenhouse. Both varieties on the plot are ready to start harvesting but I still have three bags to empty first.

 it`s all a bit pear shaped as my Sarpo Mira have flower buds today! and I`ve just started eating my first earlies-Rocket, PJ and Lady C`s, all started in greenhouse tubs 3rd. March.
Sown in ground ones started 18th. March look about ready as PJ had flowers but i`m holding off digging until after this rainy spell and giving them a chance to fatten up?

I didn't manage to get my chitted spuds - Swift, Red DOY, Kestrel and Cara - in til 13th April and they were very slow to show above ground (bit too deep? was too shallow last year!). They're looking very healthy now, well earthed up. But well I furtled the Swift yesterday I didn't find any spuds (though I only went down a little way, prob just in the earthing soil) - I know it's only 8 weeks since they went in, should I be concerned yet?

Have lifted about five plants of my "Fortyfold" and very nice they are! Man, I love this time of year, keeping all the neighbours supplied, especially Mrs ? who lives next door but 2 - 86 and needs her spuds lol. Eating our strawberries as well  :)

Peace all
