Rotation Question
« on: June 02, 2010, 21:49 »
Comments welcome!

Trying to plan ahead:

When I pull up my new pots what can go in straight after them? Likewise when my onions, shallots and garlic have been dug up what can go in straight after?

I was thinking kale after the new pots but unsure as to what after the onions, garlic and shallots?

Thanks

After the spuds I would put in anything that wasn't a brassica and after the onions I would put brassicas.

What else can you plant in late summer/autumn other than brassicas? I was going to follow pots with brassicas - lol!

in autumn, sow broad beans (but provide shelter as a bad winter can be devastating),  then there's garlic and overwintering onions  ;)

how about some hardy outdoor lettuce and salad leaves for cropping over winter/spring?

After new spuds can go leeks, jappanesseeee onions (overwintering onions) you could also use the ground for salad crops, lettuce etc or green manure ready for next year.
