Hi all
Dad has come down to build the run outside our outhouse for the chickens.  I have bought some galvanised wire mesh which is 4ft wide and it will need to be joined/overlapped in places.  How can we fix the different widths together to make it secure?

I have had a quick look on internet and can see something called hog clips but you seem to need a special tool to close the clips. 

Has anyone got any suggestions please.

I have used cable ties to join wire together

I used wire.  I looped it in and out of the weld mesh.  I overlapped by one or two inches and it has made it very strong.  Hard work but worth it.

if you have to join the wedmesh together, I sometimes use old cable wire which I save, but our weldmesh is 3ft wide, so my Brian made panels up for me which are 6ft x 3ft, and we now join them together with cable ties.  Wonderful invention!  Oh and he staples the mesh to the wood

at the moment my panels are 6ft long and 3ft high with netting over the top for the excheuer leghorns, but when he gets round to making some more, I can stand them up and they will be 6ft high and 3 ft wide!

Build your frames to the size of the weldmesh and the  join the frames.
Much easier than any other method.
