My tomatoes are getting huge in their pots - now on their third size.  I want to put them outside but not sure when I can do this.  The weather for the weekend looks good but could get colder next week.  Would it be possible to plant out and cover up of an evening with fleece or should I try to coax them along for another week or so in the pots?

2 years ago I was going on holiday at this time and planted mine out with a plastic bag over each one, with the pole keeping it a bit above the top.
It worked a treat

That sounds like a good trick, will try it I think.  I was looking at the forecast on weather underground and they are saying that the temperature will go down to 2C next Tuesday night - and I thought that was all over!

I have the same problem, the tomatoes are huge and I don't have a greenhouse, so they're indoors waiting for the stupid temperature to get better. I had high hopes seeing the nice temperature forecast in the next few days, but you're right, it looks like it's going to get very cold again in the night from Tuesday...
I read somewhere "don't put your tomatoes out until the minimum temperature is reliably above 13", but does it ever happen in this country?

Make sure you harden them off properly before putting them out - i.e. outdoors during the day, indoors at night - for a week at least.
