« on: August 04, 2009, 16:31 »
My munchkin pumpkin has just gone everywhere I have small fruits on it now so can I start pinching it out to keep it under control?
Also some of the leaves have a dusting of mold on them any ideas on what to do or should I just leave be.

Just had a look at Dr Hessayon, and he describes the leaf mould as powdery mildew.

Spray with sulphur is listed as the cure.

Or a mixture of milk and water............there is another thread on here somewhere about this very problem.

Milk diluted 9:1, skimmed avoids any smell.

or 1 tablespoon of bicarbonate of soda (sodium bicarbonate) per gallon of water. Sold by chemists for treating indigestion. It is the main ingredient of baking powder but that has tartartic acid added. Not to be confused with washing soda (sodium carbonate) or caustic soda.

or sulphur sold as wetable sulphur from your garden centre
