Sowed mine on 10th April and they are still just tiny seedlings. I thought I had sown two rows but only one seems to be showing...

In my rather limited experience of growing carrots I would say that they are not famous for positively leaping out of the ground and racing skywards, and they are not being helped right now by the cool conditions and lack of the yellow stuff!   ;)
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

I have sown 5 rows so far starting in March around the 20th I have had none, yes, nonje germinate.  I had them covered with fleece and cloche for the ones sown in March.  I have grown some in root trainers which I planted out the other night and they seem to be OK.  So from good knows how many seeds, all this year's seed, I have got the potential of 20 carrots.  For my children that means about two portions as they love carrots with the rule one for the pot one for them.  I have sown some more last night in root trainers and I will see.
Time waits for no man and I can't wait for growth.

Only sowed my first carrots on Monday but hoping they will come up reasonably quickly as I waited a bit longer before sowing them this year. Extremely jealous of anybody harvesting carrotts from a greenhouse as i dont have that luxury at the moment  :( :(, Would definately be re sowing after 6 weeks though?
The force is strong in this one!

First batch went in early Feb under cloches, they are now about an inch tall, second batch went in end of March, they are just showing, third batch went in yesterday, no sign yet  :)

All early Nantes. I'll start sowing main crop in about 6 weeks.

Mine only went in 2 weeks ago, but I'll be resowing this week as the b****y mole has having a party in that particular bed! Jude
