I'm still dithering
« on: April 20, 2010, 18:51 »
 by this time last year all my courgettes, cues, pumpkins etc had been sown, haven't done it yet...and can't make up my mind whether to wait a few weeks or not

I had also put my toms out in the cold g/house under extra polysheet or fleece at night, still not chanced it this year  ???

the dining room is a garden extension at the mo ..but they are not getting enough room or light to grow properly, something has to give soon

Im dithering too  :D

I'm currently lifting 5 trays in and out every day. There was a heavy ground frost here this morning and the same is forecast for tonight. I put some toms in the greenhouse a while back and they're not happy at all.

I'll leave it until next week I think, but then I don't live in the tropics down there like you

Ive put all my more sensitive plants in a plastic greenhouse inside my greenhouse!

Seems to be working fine even with the odd frost!

Go on you know you want to

I think we've all lost our confidence when it comes to predicting the seasons; I was just starting to get used to milder winters although I'm not sure I'll ever get used to sh*tty summers! (Maybe, just maybe, we won't have to this year.)
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

One of the best things about being an orang-utan is the fact that you don't lose your good looks as you get older

I've had fingers and toes crossed for months now.
I put tomatoes and chillies in the unheated greenhouse border a couple of weeks back, my toms are doing ok thankfully but my chillies are looking a little sad though.
I've promised myself that next year I will learn a few lessons

I could have written that post myself! I'm exactly the same, my toms on the lounge windowsill are starting to get really leggy but the ones in the greenhouse have just stopped and gone that weird bluey colour so I daren't put the other ones in there yet.
I did sow my cukes on Sunday but am still holding off on courgettes, squash, sweetcorn etc. as it's still so flippin cold at night.

I'm running out of space everywhere, both in the greenhouse and the house.

*looks for "pulling hair out" smiley*

I didn't trick you Prakash ???, my sweetcorn is potted and about 3 inches high, I'm still expecting to get them in on time, in a few weeks :D....they are one of the things that seem to be doing well and they don't worry me, or any of the other people in that thread :)

it's all the others  ::) do I add all those to the waiting hoards as well

Actually I dont know any of the timing either! this is my first full year of growing and all i do is read this site and when people are doing something and they are on the same latitude I do it as well. I have to clear up all the plant trays and move it to sit and have dinner today.
