I've heard that plenty of strong alcohol is good for removing the lead from your pencil!!
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

           (Ice!)

I don't bother with Jif (or Cif if you must :) ) just one of those metal pan scourers and some washing up water.

Not keen on risking using Cif myself (my GP doesn't approve of antibiotics!)     :tongue2:

I used indelible marker last year ... must have been a good one 'coz I reckon they are good for at least another year, so I've just sorted them into alphabetically order to be reused ... less effort than trying to clean off the writing I reckon ...

... although I did like someone's idea of printing labels on computer and then laminating them instead of faffing around with labels which sometimes fade etc.

What I do works really wel.  Get a pencil  scribble out old name and write on the other side.  LOL
The cheap labels are in tesco now lovely for writing on with pencil, 25 in a pack, can't remember the price, I know I got 5 packs and I am tight so prob about 20 to 40p a pack.  And before anyone mentions plastic milk bottles I KNOW you can.

Found the receipt four packs for £1.00

Keep your eye out for lollipop sticks through the year and you will pick up enough to use for growing season and plenty of exercise with all that bending and straightening on your doggy walks and such.

More environmentally friendly than buying plastic labels.

Here's another one - cut up the soft plastic bottles that Organic slug pellets come in and write on those. Because they are smooth you can write on them with pencil or CD marker and when you want them for something else you just rub off with a thumb - simple.

I use very general names like pea, runner bean, cabbage, cauliflower and keep the packets for reference. It allows me to use the same markers every year for crops that I grow regular like. Oh is that cheating?
