Black stuff
« on: April 11, 2010, 07:40 »
We were lucky enough yesterday to get hold of a delivery of nearly 2 ton of council recycle compost - it's sat steaming away at the bottom of our plot  Does anyone know if it has any nutricional value or is it just a soil conditioner?
I'm queen of my own compost heap and I'm getting used to the smell.

It's just a soil conditioner if our recycled offerings are anything to go by. If it's steaming, then it's either very wet or not fully rotted. In either case, give it some time to stop steaming.
