Its like a BIG bee but not one lol, is it doing any damage to my spuds?

First year at growing veg, not too fussed about being organic, but if I can I will, be nice ;)

I'm not a zoologist but I reckon its one of those parasitic wasps that lays eggs in aphids. One of the gardeners best buddies!

It's beautiful.  Doesn't look like the kind of thing that would eat you spuds. :D

Scared the dodo out of me when I seen it I was up close when I noticed it. Also seen a frog, I don't see many creatures lol, an exciting day!

think its a type of hoverfly if its big. Small and i'd say a gall wasp.

I had the devil of a job getting the biggest hoverfly I've ever seen out of my greenhouse a couple of days ago.

Diptera (two-winged fly) for sure ... most likely although pic not that clear a species of hover/drone fly...pic no clear enough for exact id.

No idea my self but I have tried to sharpen it up a little which might help.
