I go every day to check rainfall and minimum temperatures, and to check and feed the cat! ???

Sounds lovely...... when I get time to clear and tidy my shed I think I'll do the very same thing!!  ;)

Nothing I suppose for a few weeks :( :( :( At the moment I couldn't if I wanted too. Hopefully though someone will give me a hand to pick the Swede, Parsnips and Sprouts for the Christmas week celebrations.

poor Nige - we'd all pitch in if we could.
talking about parsnips - good heavens! picked 2 yesterday (well OH did) - and the were the fattest snips I have ever seen - blinkin' henormous! I expected them to be woody, but no! I have cut enough off one to roast for moi and OH - and I kid you not, that still leaves 9/10th of the thing untouched!!. So, have made gorgeous snip soup as well.. :tongue2:

other than that, trips to lottie slightly rare at the moment.
small, Welsh and almost certainly bonkers, but can be tamed with Talisker, if required

I dug a few parsnips yesterday while I could still get the fork into the ground. They were whoppers ....... chopped one up and roasted ....... was delicious after the shop bought carrots of the night before!

Only about three inches of B@@@@y white stuff left on Lottie so I dug a trench in preparation for the new raised bed for the asparagus. The clay soil is so thin in places
over sandstone. It s barely afoot deep in places. So its dug out and the foreman arrives,Robin, perches on fork handle(dont ask what I was doing with four candles on the Lottie) thinks I m barmy digging a hole and then filling with rubbish. (leaves)
I think i was a bit opimistic about 6 bin bags being enough for the raised bed, probably need three times that, hey ho.I do feel so much better for doing three hours work today
To err is human, to arr is pirate
